Session Details

What will you build?

You will be building a web application in this boot camp using the Laravel framework. You will start with a real-life problem statement and work towards incrementally building an application to solve the problem. To develop this solution you will cover different aspects of SDLC while learning the framework.

 

What all you will learn?

The program will start with a warm-up exercise where you will build a small app in PHP and create familiarity with basics of web development. Next following the SDLC cycle you will start with the problem statement and move on to requirements, architecture, and other phases. You will be introduced to the framework and will cover the following to complete the use case.  

  • Day 1
    • Introduction to Laravel
    • System setup and getting hands-on
    • Understanding MVC architecture
    • Learning from Laracasts
    • Create a basic hello world app
  • Day 2
    • Diving into Laravel
    • Create a basic CRUD application
    • Laravel concepts
      • Command-line: php artisan
      • Blade templating engines
      • Laravel Mix
      • Eloquent ORM
      • Database migrations
  • Day 3
    • Authentication in Laravel
    • Form requests and validation

 

What skills do you need to be a part of it?

This program is designed in such a way that it can be undertaken by anyone interested in web development with the following prerequisites.

Participants should possess some hands-on experience in PHP. Understanding of HTML/CSS/JS and Object Oriented concepts is needed. Further basic knowledge of database concepts (CRUD), query building, relationships, and keys will help in smooth building the application.
