Every work comes with its own set of challenges and constraints. The most common one being that of time. Facing such zero hour scenarios is not a rare instance for an organization but the way they are approached is what makes the difference.
Working in time crunch situations is a check of one’s metal where quick decision making and efficient team coordination is pivotal. Apart from the challenge the bring, they also hold ample opportunities when delivered efficiently.
Last year we were contacted by the Indian office of a global research institute. They reached out to us for their design requirements while organizing an event which was around the corner. They were short on time and needed immediate assistance for their design needs.
The institute is a non-government organization which works on environment and development related issues in more than 50 countries. This particular event focused on bringing equal road transport opportunities for everyone.
The deadline was tight as the event was just a couple of days away. Irrespective of the constraints we decided to make it happen and started working as their extended design team. They wanted a logo for their project and needed support in building print assets such as banners and standees for the event. We partnered with the design team to work with them on the designing comps.
We kept our focus on the human-centered design approach we follow. We tried understanding the concept, research, and the project and in turn mirrored it in the sketches we created. To stand out of the crowd it is important to have an impact element in what you create. This happens only when the product or design as we talk here resonates with the core idea that the client envisions.
With that approach, the designs were created. The core elements were taken to sketch the initial ideas and then through iterative designing the final product was developed which was further used across all visual channels.
This episode of working as an extension of the NGO’s design team in a tight delivery schedule strengthened our relationship. We kept working together and this partnership further culminated into the signing of a year-long contract for all the design work they require in their projects. So the story that started with a branding task moved forward with a number of communication design works.
Be it the first or the recent projects we maintain the human-centered approach to understand the story behind the idea. The designs are created keeping in mind the concept and vision behind it. For one such project that was being carried out on an international scale, our design team visited the locations where the designs had to be displayed to understand the impact the design should create.
Further adding to this organic way of creating partnerships, we now assist them in their technical needs also. Being a design plus tech company, our ability to handle all aspects while resonating with clients vision gave rise to this association.
We are now building an application for their major yearly event and here also the process starts by understanding the need of the application and the problem they aim to solve it. We analyze the technical feasibility through this process and evaluate the scope of the application to create a larger impact on the audience it captures.
By understanding the requirements, the purpose and the idea we are able to create products that resonate with client’s core concept. Something they and their customers can connect with and hence we make it a point to maintain this approach irrespective of the constraints and challenges it comes with.
